Emily Pountney with former student turned professional photographer Matthew Clark

Professional photographer Matthew Clark couldn’t believe his luck when he was asked by the News Portsmouth to capture results day images at our Sixth Form Campus.

The happy snapper was in the Class of 2015, studying sociology, photography and graphic design.

One of his lecturers was none other than now Vice Principal Emily Pountney, who was delighted to catch up with him.

“Every year I ask the News if I can cover this campus but this is the first time it’s actually happened,” he said.

“I have very happy memories of my time here and I’m delighted to be back!”

Matthew, who now runs his own photographic agency, has even been invited to talk to photography students.

“I struggled at school because I have dyslexia, but I’ve done some amazing things in my career so far – even taking photographs of an incredibly prestigious event on board one of the Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carriers,” he continued.

“If I can inspire just one student, I’ll be very happy indeed.”
