International Women's Day celebrations welcomed Amba Tremain

International Women’s Day was celebrated in style today at City of Portsmouth College’s Highbury Campus, with a visit from the incredibly talented Amba Tremain.
A true Portsmouth talent, Amba wowed students with her powerful vocals, performing well known classics alongside some of her own music.
Last week, the bright lights of the Britain’s Got Talent stage illuminated her talents for the nation to enjoy, and today, our students were lucky enough to get front row access to this intimate performance.
Amba took some time to speak about collaboration and how she believes working together as a team is the key to success. She is the eldest of 6 girls, so she knows a thing or two about dedicated and powerful women supporting each other!
We asked Amba who she is inspired by, and she was quick to answer with “my Mum, none of us would have thrived in the way we did without her support”.
She ended her performance with some takeaway advice for our students, “never think about what other people think of you, go with what you love to do, because it will repay in the future”.
Take a look at a track from Amba's performance below.
