This course will support anyone who is interested in working in a school, assisting children with their learning. It will give you an insight into what is needed to support children in a school environment with their learning and development.
Units include:
- communicating with children & young people
- understanding conflict in the classroom
- awareness mental health
- understanding safeguarding of children and young people
- supporting english second language
- understand how schools work.
Please note, this course is taught in various locations.
There are no formal entry requirements to join this course.
Classes are three hours a week, held over 10 weeks.
Your progress will be assessed by your lecturer through participation in group discussions and activities. Extra support is available via Microsoft Teams and email support from your lecturer.
Throughout the course, there will be plenty of time for group discussions and you will receive regular feedback from your lecturer on your progress.
You can progress on to our Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course.
