This course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to produce, mix and master music whether you want to help realise another artist’s vision or create your very own.
You will study a range of units that will challenge you and the way you think about sound. This will include film score composition, remixing and reworking tracks, audio recording in and outside of a studio as well as learning about the industry as a whole.
Digital music is massive and there are lots of progression opportunities. You will learn a wide range of practical skills and techniques within both the studio as well as developing theoretical knowledge surrounding recording techniques.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English language. No formal music qualifications are needed, however if taken, a merit in Level 2 music is required.
You will have a 9.55am start, one lesson in the morning, one in the afternoon and a guaranteed 4pm finish. You will also have at least one morning and one afternoon per week free for private study.
Assessments will comprise 60% personal investigation and 40% externally set practical exam. Your coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated.
You could progress to some of the most prestigious music universities in the country, including BIMM, ACM, Winchester, Leeds College of Music, Bath Spa, Solent and Portsmouth University as well as directly into the industry.
