A sophisticated cyber event by hackers believed to specialise in targeting educational organisations has been successfully contained by the strength of our core IT systems.
Principal and CEO Katy Quinn said the cyber event happened on Wednesday 31 January.
College systems were immediately locked down and actions taken to minimise disruption to student learning.
Cyber experts were on hand and a series of precautionary protection measures swiftly put into place, including a network outage which is expected to remain in place for another few days.
The cyber experts and the college’s insurers have agreed that no college or personal data has been compromised.
“Thanks to the investment in our core IT infrastructure, we were able to respond quickly and effectively to the event,” said Katy.
“Student learning remains a priority, so we have stayed open throughout the network outage, with lessons running as usual.
“We wish to thank students, parents and staff for their ongoing support and apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused,” she added.
